Sokol Blosser Winery is located in Dundee, Oregon and is about an hour and a half from Whispering Woods Resort. We suggest doing a day-trip to this area and visiting several wineries while you are in the area because there are many to choose from.
As is stated on their website, the best way to have a great experience is to make a tasting room reservation in advance. There’s a covered seating area outside if you just want to stop in without booking a table in advance. We didn’t make a reservation, but thankfully it was a sunny day and not too cold outside.
During our visit, there were two tasting menu options: $30 for mostly Pinot Noir and $20 for a few Pinot Noir’s and some other lighter wines. They also had a small menu with some snack options.
My friend and I sat outside for a while while we tasted our first few wines and ate our cheese board and popcorn. After a while we wanted a change in scenery so we took a walk through the vineyards. Most of the grapes had been harvested, but the fall colors were stunning and it was a lovely walk.
Each time we were ready for another one of our wine options, the staff was quick to fill our glasses and gave us a short description of how it was made.
The winery is set in a stunning area. You can get a great view from most areas on the property and it’s a comfortable place to hang out if you are just stopping by. It would also be a good option for a small group of people to celebrate a birthday, have a baby shower, or just hang out with friends.
If you end up liking what Sokol Blosser has to offer, consider joining their wine membership called Cellar Club. There are three options, each offering a more exclusive level of membership. Check it out here.
