Boulder Lake is one of the many beautiful lakes you can hike to in the Mt. Hood area. The lake itself is only a 1/5 mile walk from the trailhead and is great for swimming during the warmer months. Continue down the trail a little more and you will see Little Boulder Lake as well.
For a detailed description of the 6.3 mile loop hike, click here. If you want to camp by the lake after your day of hiking, there are several spots to set up your tent. Since it’s so easy to get to the lake, this can be a popular camping destination in the summer.
The Boulder Lake Trailhead is about 1.5 hours from Whispering Woods Resort and would work as a day hike destination or as an opportunity to sleep in nature for a night during your trip.
Another way to enjoy Boulder Lake is by biking the 17.9 mile mountain bike loop. Read more about that here.
