The annual Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is a fun, inexpensive way to get outside with your family this spring. This festival is located in Woodburn, Oregon and will run from March 20, 2020 until May 3, 2020.
You can purchase your tickets in advance, but we just bought them when we arrived. It’s $5 per person (Monday-Friday) but there’s a max of $20 per car. On Saturdays and Sundays is $6 per person and a max of $30 per car. A seasonal pass is available for $60.
There are also several other options to purchase bulk tickets for tour buses, vans, and schoolbuses.
The tulip fields are massive and extensive. If you love flowers, I would plan to spend at least an house walking through the various sections. It can get pretty muddy so bring a pair of shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.
There are hundreds of tulip varieties on the property and each one has a little label to tell you exactly which variety it is. This is especially helpful for those of you who want to order tulip bulbs on-site and need to know what your favorite flower is called.
The best time to visit if you want to see the most tulips in bloom is during the first few weeks of April. It’s hard to know exactly when the best time is but this is an estimate from the Tulip Festival’s website.
If you want to purchase fresh cut flowers, you can visit a tent near the tulip fields and choose from whatever is available that day.
Flower Pricing
$5.00 per bouquet (10 stems)
5 bouquets – $20.00 ($4.00 ea)
20 bouquets assorted colors (we choose) – $70.00
20 bouquets custom box (you choose) – $75
Once you are done walking through the tulip fields, there are several options for you whether you have friends and family with you or not. You can walk through the row of vendors selling jewelry, local honey, handmade home decor, and many other options.
There are also some food vendors available if you are hungry. In the past the options have included BBQ, wood-fired pizza, coffee, chopped chicken bowls and more. Once you have your food you can choose from a variety of picnic tables to sit at.
For kids, there is an area with various smaller rides, a giant slides, and other fun activities things to keep them busy.
If you are 21 or older, stop by the wine tasting tent to try wines from their very own Wooden Shoe Vineyards.
