Hamilton Mountain

By Kelsey Samsel | Hiking

Hamilton Mountain is part of Beacon Rock State Park located on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. While on the trail you can choose to hike the “difficult” or “more difficult” version about 1.3 miles in. The more difficult route is 7.5 miles round-trip while the difficult one is 6 miles.

On this trail you will get to see three waterfalls, stunning views, and the Pool of the Winds which is a popular destination in itself. In the spring, this is a great trail to see wildflowers

THINGS TO KNOW

  • You need a $10 Discover Day Pass to park at the trailhead. ($30 for an annual pass)

  • Dogs are allowed on a leash
  • There are black bears in the most northern area so be sure to make some noise when you come to a sign pointing to Hardy Creek Trail.
